Middle Earth hosts a variety of events throughout the year that raise funds, encourage volunteerism, celebrate our programs or increase awareness for the agency. We hope you’ll consider joining us – you can have fun and support your community at the same time! Our events are:
“Run from Winter” 10K Race
Middle Earth hosts a 10K run through Duke Island Park every Spring. The event raises funds for Middle Earth and fills a void in the local area for races that are longer than 5K but not a half marathon. Prizes for top winners and t-shirts for all racers are distributed.
Once a year, our Board of Directors hosts a wonderful reception. Past receptions have taken place at the Winemakers of Somerset, the USGA Golf Museum, and at local restaurants. The evening includes wonderful refreshments, including wine, beer and hors d’oeuvres; a silent auction and raffles; a giving tree; tours of the facility; and a presentation by the Middle Earth youth. The event is a great opportunity to network with other local business owners and community leaders.
Somerset County 4-H Fair
Every August, Middle Earth hosts a hamburger stand at the Somerset County 4-H Fair at North Branch Park, encouraging volunteerism among our youth and raising funds for our agency. You can support us by purchasing food from our tent or volunteering to help with the food preparation!
